Chennai: Two brothers have been arrested in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu for stealing goats.  The father of the two brothers wanted to make a film in which he cast his two sons in the lead role, but due to lack of money, the two brothers started stealing goats to help their father financially.

According to Indian media, 30-year-old Naranjan Kumar and 32-year-old Lenin Kumar have been stealing goats for the last three years.  Both stole 8 to 10 goats a day and sold each for about Rs.  8,000.  Naranjan and Lenin roamed the deserts and countryside looking for animals grazing on the side of the road and stealing one or two goats when no one was around.  He always took care not to graze more than one or two goats.  As a result, no one complained about the theft of goats.  However, on October 9, they stole a goat from a man in Madhoram who had six goats in his herd.  Was reported to which he lodged a complaint.

Police later checked CCTV footage, according to which the thieves got into the car and stole the goat.  There was no registration number on the car.  During the investigation, police found that one or two goats were missing in the area on a daily basis.  So the police deployed plainclothes officers in the area and arrested the two while they were trying to steal a goat from the side of the road.

Police say that their father Vijay Shankar is making a film called "Ni Than Raja" in which he had cast his own two sons in the lead role.  However, due to lack of money, the film was dropped.  The shooting stopped in the middle, so the sons decided to help their father financially and stole the goats.
